Key Stage one

World of Owls use the strands of the “World Around Us” curriculum to demonstrate how a visit from us covers many aspects of the curriculum for all age groups.

1. Interdependence:

Foundation stage- We teach how people’s actions can affect animals.

Key stage 1- We discuss the needs of the animals to hunt for survival.

2. Movement and energy:

Foundation stage- Living things move on the ground , underground, sea and air.

Ks1- Animals move in a variety of ways including seasonal changes cause animals to move.

3. Place:

Fs- Animals where we live.

Ks1- Colour is used in the natural environment i.e.camouflage

4. Change over time:

Fs- How animals are influenced by weather.
Ks1 – The impact of litter on our environment.
