Owl Experience’s
Owl Experiences
A personal meeting with one of our educational demonstration owls — and an opportunity to learn more about these remarkable birds from one of our trained keepers.
Meet one of our owls
Individual Owl Experiences are a fantastic way to enhance your visit to us and learn a little more about owls.
The experience is available for an additional £35 and is suitable for 1–4 people, between 12.30pm and 3pm.
It is usually best to pre-book during the summer and busy periods. During winter and less busy periods, we operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Personal meeting
Meet one of our educational demonstration owls accompanied by one of our keepers.
About 10 minutes
The session lasts approximately 10 minutes, depending on how busy the centre is.
Learn their story
Your keeper will explain the owl’s species and share the story of the owl you will be meeting.
Please check availability
An Owl Experience can only be conducted by a trained bird of prey handler, and trained handlers are not available every day. We therefore strongly recommend checking in advance by email or telephone, during opening hours.
You are also welcome to enquire upon arrival. As we have a limited number of volunteer staff trained to handle our birds of prey.
Owl Experiences cannot be guaranteed.
Important information
These are NOT owl-holding experiences.
We do not let everyone, especially small children, handle our owls and other birds of prey. Whether handling is appropriate can only be assessed when meeting visitors.
These are birds of prey with very strong feet, razor-sharp talons and strong, sharp beaks. They can be unpredictable, as can visitors. Nervous visitors that may have underlying issues that we may not know about can lead to accidents.
Keeping everyone safe
We need to ensure the safety of our birds, visitors and staff.
Unfortunately, small children will not be permitted to hold any owls.
Which owl will I meet?
Each trained bird of prey handler at World Of Owls has their own specific raptors that they alone can handle. You cannot request a particular species to meet; the owl available will be dependant on the handler.
