Owl Experiences

Individual “Owl Experience’s” are a fantastic way to enhance your visit to us and learn a little more about Owls.

The experience is additional £35 and has to be pre-booked. This is for between 1 to 4 people.

Individual Owl Experiences are available for an additional £35 and must be pre-booked. This experience is suitable for groups of 1–4 people.

An Owl Experience is a personal meeting with one of our educational demonstration owls, accompanied by one of our keepers. The experience lasts approximately 10 minutes or so, depending on how busy the centre is. During the session, the keeper will explain the owl’s species and share the story of the owl you will be meeting.

Please note that it is not always possible for everyone to hold our educational demonstration owls. Usually, only one person per small group may have the opportunity to do so, but this can only be determined on the day. Owls are still predatory birds of prey with extremely strong feet, large razor-sharp talons, and can sometimes behave unpredictably. We must ensure the safety of our visitors, our owls, and our handlers at all times.

Unfortunately, small children will not be permitted to hold any owls.

Availability for Owl Experiences is limited. Pre-booking requires payment in advance, as previous no-shows have resulted in lost income for the centre.

If you have not pre-booked, you are welcome to enquire upon arrival. However, as we have a limited number of volunteer staff trained to handle the birds of prey, Owl Experiences cannot be guaranteed without a prior booking.
